Every plan is the same David, with every feature. Each is a monthly platform fee, excluding VAT, with a pooled allowance of AI credit bundled in, worth half the fee.

AI usage is charged for differently to the software of the past, and many people are unfamiliar with how it works. So we keep ours simple. This means:

No annual upfront payment
We don't tie you in with an annual contract or ask for a large outlay up front. You pay monthly, and can change plan as you grow.

We only charge you what we pay for AI services. What that means

New to how AI is charged for? Demystifying AI pricing starts from the beginning.

What is AI credit?
  • AI credit is what you spend when you use an AI-powered platform or tool. It measures how much AI "thinking" your requests use.
  • The services behind David are charged by use: AI models, transcription, search and more. Your monthly platform fee includes an allowance of AI credit to cover them, pooled across your organisation.
  • Different tasks take different amounts. A short reply takes very little; a long, multistep task takes more. How AI credit works, or Demystifying AI pricing for the full picture.
How do you make AI credit work for us?
  • Every monthly plan comes with a bundle of AI credit, calculated from typical monthly usage for an organisation of your size.
  • It's one allowance pooled across your organisation, not one per person. If one person uses a little and another a lot, the credit goes where it's needed.
  • Bundled credit expires at the end of each month, and is calculated carefully to keep wastage to a minimum. What happens to credit we don't use
  • Usage varies with the tasks your people ask David to do, so there's no universal rule. David gives you the tools to understand, monitor and optimise your usage as an organisation.
  • David uses the appropriate AI model for the task at hand, which in most cases reduces what you spend. It avoids the unnecessary cost of an advanced model doing a simple job. Why that matters to us
What happens if we use all our bundled credit?
  • You'll see it coming. Usage is easy to track, and you choose the levels at which you're alerted. Setting alerts
  • Top up whenever you need to. Top-up credit is bought at cost and is used once your bundled credit has run out. Whatever is left rolls over, to be used after next month's bundle.
  • Or let it happen on its own: with automatic top-ups switched on, David buys more credit when your balance falls below a level you choose, up to a monthly limit you set.
  • Nothing stops in the meantime. What David does when credit runs low
Can we set thresholds?
  • Yes. Choose the levels at which you're alerted as your organisation's credit runs down, for your bundled allowance and for any top-up balance.
  • You can also give each person a monthly limit, so nobody runs away with the allowance. Someone who reaches theirs can ask for more, and you decide.
If we run out of credit, will David stop working?
  • No. When your credit gets low, David switches to a lower-cost AI model for every task. The work that keeps your business running carries on until you top up or next month's credit arrives.
  • Work that needs heavier AI may wait. The automation that tells you about an unhappy customer in the inbox keeps running; the weekly management accounts analysis may not fully complete until the more advanced model is available again.
What happens to bundled credit we don't use?
  • It expires at the end of the month, like the bundled minutes on a mobile phone contract. Each bundle is calculated carefully, so very little should go unused.
  • Because we make nothing on AI usage, our interest is in your bundle going further: David choosing the right model for each task, and not using AI where it isn't needed.
  • Top-up credit is different: it doesn't expire.
When should we move up a plan?
  • Plans differ in capacity: the AI credit bundled each month and the storage. Move up when your regular month needs more of either.
  • A busy month that uses more AI than usual doesn't call for a bigger plan. A top-up covers it at cost, and whatever's left rolls over. Topping up
  • You can move up or down at any time, with no annual contract. The new price and credit allowance start from your next monthly bill.
What is the storage for?
  • Storage is used all over David to help your team work efficiently. It holds the indexes David keeps over your data sources, such as email inboxes, for rapid recall and search, and the files you upload to David that don't live anywhere else.
  • Files kept in SharePoint, Dropbox or another business store stay there, and we don't charge to store them. Indexes are compressed: for example, a 50GB mailbox typically takes about 3GB of David storage.
What does "cost price, 0% markup" mean?
  • We pass on the cost of usage-based services, such as AI models, transcription and search, at exactly what they cost us. We earn no markup on credit.
  • So we have every reason to keep your AI usage efficient: David picks the right model for each task, and doesn't use AI for work that can be automated without it.
  • For simplicity, these costs are converted to your billing currency at an exchange rate set daily.
